Are Grains, Legumes and Seeds Really Good for You?

NOURISHING TRADITIONAL DIETSGrains like wheat may not be right for everybody.

How many foods in grocery stores and restaurants contain wheat?

Lots, I  have personally been avoiding wheat for many years, and I feel much better as a result.

Sally Fallon DVD Part 2 “NOURISHING TRADITIONAL DIETS”

Lillah-Teacher

Several years back I did some self testing. I discovered that wheat makes me tired and almost depressed.  Soon after this was verified with allergy testing. Many people are sensitive to the gluten. We are finally starting to see more gluten- free items appearing in the grocery stores, instead of just the health food stores.

You will want to check out what Sally Fallon has to say about soybeans in this video. They are not the health food they are made out to be.

Here are some of the points she makes about soy:

  • Contains toxins, difficult to get rid of
  • Difficult to digest, contains enzyme inhibitors
  • Blocks the absorption of zinc, calcium and other minerals
  • Inhibits thyroid function

So a little bit of soy now and then is not going to kill you. The problem comes in with vegetarians who substitute soy for meat products, thereby eating lots of soy almost every day. Or people who eat a lot of soy, thinking that it is a health food.

She also warns us about soy infant formulas and soy milk.

In Asia, soy foods are fermented for a long time before consumption. They also eat a diet rich in thyroid supportive nutrients.

One of my favorite ways to balance my pH is to drink an organic, cleansing herbal tea. It acts as a very gentle colon cleanse and helps to remove toxins from my body.

Lilleth should check her facts. Actually, the truth is that almost all of the inhibitor (trypsin)is removed during the processing of soy isolate protein (used to make the “modern” soy products”) although the amount remaining can vary. Isoflavanoids can or cannot be preserved depending on the exact process. Other problems can occur, including denaturing of the valuable proteins and aluminum and other chemicals can leech into the product. The usuable protein content is still quite acceptable -there is no evidence of protein deficiency in individuals who rely on these product (babies’ formula for example) . Before such a huge denouncement, it would be good to check the actual effects of regular use of these product in terms of actual health problems on those who use the products regularly short or long term.

I eat soyyogurt. Is that Contains toxins, difficult to get rid of
Difficult to digest, contains enzyme inhibitors
Blocks the absorption of zinc, calcium and other minerals
      Inhibits thyroid function also?
That is fermented. Am I right?

As I listen to this I am cooking some beans. They are a good source of fiber that stimulate the absorption of calcium and stimulate colon health. The paleo diet is non existant. Paleo meat does not exist. Man never did eat a lot of fat – that is a myth. Looking at the Inuits is ridiculous – they are the most unhealthy people in the world. If you want to find the most healthy diets look to the societies that live the longest. They do not eat meat (or they do not eat much meat), they do not eat a lot of dairy, they do not eat a lot of fat. They eat a lot of vegetable and peanuts and fruits. This woman does not know what she is talking about.

    4. I was shocked to find out the bad side of soy products.
I now drink Almond Milk instead of soy milk, but do eat
soy burgers. However, did not know the following bad side of soy. Is this really 100% true?

Contains toxins, difficult to get rid of
Difficult to digest, contains enzyme inhibitors
Blocks the absorption of zinc, calcium and other minerals
      Inhibits thyroid function

      Thanks for your answer.
