Berry Berry Smoothie, Its Berry Delicious


Coconut OilThis is a low glycemic smoothie, which means it will not skyrocket your blood sugar.

Berries are some of the most low glycemic fruits, they provide a steady slow rise in blood sugar.

Bananas and pineapple are higher on the glycemic index. They will cause your blood sugar to rise more rapidly.

Blueberries do happen to be on the acidic side of the alkaline diet chart, but the greens in the recipe help to balance that out. I like her suggestion of adding kale, an excellent alkaline leafy green.

  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Kiwi fruit
  • Leafy greens, spinach, kale
  • Coconut water

Put all your ingredients in a blender or nutri-bullet and blend. A few ice cubes could be added.

Other things you could add to this smoothie include; protein powder, maca, or flax seeds.

This makes a good morning drink to start your day. It tastes great and has a good amount of vitamin C.

Here is a good tip for fresh berries; rinse them just before use. Don’t rinse them in advance, because it may cause mold.

    Hey Mark, this smoothie could help, Im not a doctor so I can’t diagnose, especially over the internet.
    You may want to consider avoiding gluten and dairy. Do a little research on your own.

    Also a tablespoon of raw sauerkraut once or twice a day.

    I may have a malabsorption disorder, and my disgestion is impared… I also have some acid reflux, and possibly some food intolerances….
    Will this smoothie receipe help my body to absorp the vitamins and mineral, in a way they otherwise may not be able to. Please address.
