<li>1 tsp Hemp seeds</li>
<li>2 tsp Chia seeds</li>
<li>1/3 Cilantro</li>
</ul>
<p>Put it all in the blender and enjoy! This provides healthy omega 3 fats and a bit of protein along with loads of anti-oxidants. Makes a great breakfast of snack. If you feel like you need something more substantial, have a handful of nuts or a can of sardines along with this delicious, nutritious green smoothie.</p>
<p>I have personally been drinking green smoothies for a few years now, almost every morning, but not every single morning (variety is good). I have a basic recipe and I vary the ingredients from day to day, based on what is growing in the garden and what is in season. Fresh locally grown foods are best, but any fruit or vegetable is better than a bagel or doughnut!</p>

<p>Some people can handle a little bit of caffeine. And there is some benefit to the antioxidants in tea and coffee.</p>
<p>If you study some of the &#8220;traditional&#8221; health practices from around the globe, such as Traditional Chinese medicine, TCM, Ayurveda and others, you will find a common thread, different body types, or constitutions. Bottom line is people are different .</p>
<p>I went to see an acupuncturist a while back. He actually bought me a cup of coffee during our first meeting. So I knew he wasn&#8217;t anti-caffeine, like some health enthusiasts are. Then I went to see him for an appointment. He took my pulse, looked at my tongue, did an extensive history, and asked a lot of questions. He said to me, &#8220;You must quit caffeine.&#8221; It&#8217;s just not good for my body type, or metabolism.</p>
<p>So here I am, 13 days later, with no caffeine.</p>
<p>Here are some of the keys to quitting, that I used.</p>
<ul class="bullet-9">
<li>Started over a weekend, when not much was going on. I was able to take lots of naps.</li>
<li>Pretty much went cold turkey. I did cut back to one cup of tea the Friday before. It&#8217;s best to cut back gradually over a week or two, but I just could not get that to work. I would cut back some and then jump right back up again to a higher dose of caffeine. Finally I just gave up on that and quit.</li>
<li>I drank some&#8221; joint and pain&#8221; tea from the local herb store. Contained white willow bark, which was the old-time &#8220;aspirin&#8221;</li>
<li>Followed a detox and cleansing diet. My chiropractor told me that caffeine is cleared through the liver, so anything you could do to help the detox process would help. I drank lots of vegetable smoothies and<a href="https://www.trytlctea.com/vibrant"> Iaso tea</a>. Constipation can be an issue with caffeine withdrawal, but this combo kept me in good shape.</li>
<li>I used positive affirmations, like &#8211; I feel wonderful, now that I am caffeine free.</li>
</ul>
<p>Yes I was tired for several days, but I am glad I finally gave up caffeine. I feel much better now.<br />

<li>Cut out sodas. Not only are soft drinks loaded with sugar, but they are the worst offender, when it comes to balancing your pH. They are on the &#8220;very acid&#8221; side of the Alkaline diet chart. This is the first thing to go, if you are serious about being healthy and feeling great.</li>
<li>Artificial sweeteners are no better. Do your own research on this and discover the problems with fake sweets. Yesterday I bought a Stevia plant at <a href="http://herbfest.net">Herbfest.</a> Stevia is a great natural sweetener that has hardly any  calories.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t bring it home in the first place. If sugar is lurking around the house, it makes it very difficult to avoid munching on some sweets.</li>
<li>Fruit is much healthier choice for folks cutting back on sugar. Even though fruit contains sugar, the fiber slows down the adsorption in the digestive system. It also comes with vitamins, minerals and phyto-nutrients. Just be careful not to over do it. Diabetics and those with yeast and sugar issues should be cautions.</li>
<li>Be aware of the emotional aspect. Sweets are typically associated with celebrations, holidays and rewards. Check out the video for some great thoughts on emotions and food.</li>
<li>Taper off slowly. This works for some people and cold turkey sugar avoidance works better for some. Your body gets used to being without sugar after a period of time.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t fall off the wagon. Be careful of cravings and getting hooked all over again.</li>
<li>Eat low glycemic foods.</li>
<li>Read labels carefully</li>
<li>Get a friend to support you.</li>

<p>Dr Young also talks about the emotions and health. Stress can clearly push the body in an acidic direction.<br />
We don&#8217;t have a heart attack, Dr Young says, but literally a thought attack. I have read elsewhere that heart attacks are most common on Monday mornings, when people dread going back to a job they hate or is very stressful.</p>

<h2>Yea it&#8217;s ok to indulge a few times here and there, but the Holidays can get out of control, with feasting, office parties, Holiday meals, visits to and from relatives.</h2>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Here is a good list of tips:</strong></span></p>
<ul class="bullet-9">
<li>Be the designated driver. this gives you a good excuse not to drink. Wine, beer and liquor are all acid forming in the body,  as well as high in calories.</li>
<li>Get some self control.</li>
<li>Eat some high quality foods before the party, like a green salad. That way you won&#8217;t be tempted to over indulge by showing up super hungry.</li>
<li>Scope out the food that is offered and pick up the healthiest choices first. Look for the fruits, vegetables and nuts. Try to make the best of the foods available.</li>
<li>If you succeed at getting filled up on the good foods, you can take some of the cake and cookies home with you. This way you don&#8217;t offend your host.</li>
<li>Focus on feeling your best and be the best you that you can be. You want to be healthy and vibrant, so you can be the life of the party.</li>
<li>If you slip up, don&#8217;t beat up on yourself, just get back on your horse the next day and keep riding.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">My personal strategy: </span></strong>Take extra enzymes.
