A Good Blender

You can make this in any decent blender. Sure one of those high powered blenders is nice, but they are way expensive. I wouldn’t recommend the cheapest blender available to blend vegetables, especially carrots and beets. One of the better models from the local store will do a decent job.

Most people don’t eat that much kale and collards and certainly not raw. I happen to eat some raw kale and collards from my organic garden, but then again, I’m not like most people.

Sweetness and Flavor of Your Green Smoothie

You can balance the sweetness and flavor of this green smoothie by the amount of fruit you add. Beginners will use a higher ratio of fruit, until taste buds adapt. Stevia and xylitol are healthy sweetener alternatives that don’t add many calories.

One Change -- Flax Seeds, not Oil

The only thing I would change about the way this lady does it in the video is to use flax seeds instead of flax oil. More than one health expert that I know personally has said, flax oil goes rancid quick, Once you open the bottle the clock starts ticking. On top of that, flax seeds contain healthy fiber.

Feel free to make this with whatever ingredients you have on hand, or suites your taste.

Key Ingredients

Kale

Collards

Spinach

Apple

Berries

Flax seeds

Stevia

A better way to detox and cleanse on the inside. Iaso tea. I have some everyday with my green smoothie.

Alkaline Breakfast

I wanted to talk to you about the difference between an alkalizing breakfast and an acidifying breakfast.

Now, let’s just take a look at the typical American acidifying breakfast which typically includes something like coffee, or people even drink soda. Follow that with something containing refined white flour and sugar like doughnuts, sweetened cereal, bagels, muffins, and all that kind of stuff.

Alkaline vs Acidic Breakfast

Even whole grains, are still on the acid side of the chart

It may be less acidifying, sure. Whole grains are better than the refined white variety which is very acidifying, but it is still all on the acid side of the chart. And a lot of times people consume refined oils along with these products and they end up with something that is really not very healthy at all.

Now in contrast, an alkalizing breakfast would be something like green or white tea. You can still get caffeine. Have a couple extra cups of green and white tea. It is better than a cup of coffee. Even better yet, blend your green tea with some herbal tea.

Don’t Take Away My Coffee!

Now, some people, we get this question a lot, “Can I have a cup of coffee? I can’t live without a cup of coffee. Can I still maintain alkaline balance and have a cup of coffee?”

I like to have a cup of coffee myself every now and then. So what do I do? I put a little bit, about a quarter to a half a scoop, of Sea Calcium and I take a Magnesium tablet and I break it open, and I sprinkle about a third into that coffee and stir it up. It actually turns a little bit lighter color of brown, and I have actually gotten buffering minerals in my coffee now, so it is not quite as harmful from a PH balancing acidic point of view when I consume it.

Here is another tip. Brew up some herbal tea, like Dr Miller’s Iaso Tea – known to be alkalizing, and blend it 50-50 with your coffee. You still have a hot beverage that tastes good. It gives you the caffeine that many of us depend on for energy, without quite so much acid effect.

You could even do both, tea blend and mineral addition. This will decrease the acidic effect significantly.

A Better Alkaline Breakfast

I am going to have right along with it a vegetable blender smoothie, which is very alkalizing. I will probably have maybe some whey protein in there so I am getting some protein, some fish oil so I am getting protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, all the essentials of a good healthy diet that is very alkalizing.

Meat is OK – Organic is Best

I might even have a little bit of meat. If I do, it is a small piece, and it is clean. It is maybe organic or at least free range and doesn’t have hormones or antibiotics and all that kind of stuff in it. Or a little bit of healthy fish is also OK. And as an alternative, maybe a salad instead of the vegetable blender smoothie. All these and you will end up with a much better alkalizing breakfast solution.
