<p>These days people are stuck behind a desk, in a traffic jam, or on the phone. This makes it difficult to process the stress response.<br />
This 2 minute Qigong movement, called Shaking the Tree can be useful as a quick way to get rid of stress. Instead of a cigarette break at work, go outside and do this quick exercise. You can do this movement almost any time and place. Move in whatever way feels right to you. There is really no right or wrong way to do this Qigong move. It is great for releasing emotional stress. Next time you feel like punching somebody, do the &#8220;Shaking the Tree&#8221; move instead.</p>

<p>You could also put some in a sock ( a clean one) and stick it under your pillow, or inside the pillowcase. That way you can have that relaxing smell while you are sleeping. It might even help you fall asleep faster.</p>

<p>Deep breathing combined with gentle movement is one of the best ways to flush acid out of the body. You can literally exhale excess acids. Over exercising can actually work against you because of lactic acid build up in the muscles.</p>
<p>Best of all you can do this exercise almost anywhere. Outside in a park is ideal, but your living room or even a hotel room will work. No special exercise equipment needed.</p>
<p>It takes just a few minutes to learn these movements and you can take it at your own pace.  Only a few minutes of practice each day is needed.</p>
<p>The Chinese have been practicing QiGong for many, many years and is very popular in China today. It is gaining popularity around the world.</p>

<p>My mind feels much calmer. Not only that, I can actually feel a difference in my body.</p>
<p>Movement is one of the best ways to combat stress. When a zebra is stressed by an attacking lion, what does it do? Run! Stress triggers a need for movement in the body.</p>
<p>When the zebra is done running and the lion ate somebody else, then what? He takes a rest.</p>
<p>Yoga combines movement, with deep breathing and relaxation. That is what makes it a great stress solution. It works with that mind-body connection.</p>
