Some foods are known to promote inflammation in the body and other are thought to reduce it.
Many of the same foods that are pro-inflammatory are also overly acid forming. Things like too much red meat and junk food.
Beware of foods like:
- Trans fats
- Excess sugar
- Deep fried foods
- Processed meats, such as lunch meats, hot dogs and sausages
- Some people may be sensitive to plants from the nightshade family such as, potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplant
Ginger root is popular anti-inflammatory herb. Use it in cooking or have a cup of ginger tea.
Other good food choices:
- Most fresh vegetables
- Blueberries and strawberries
- Olive oil
- Omega 3 fats
- Plenty of pure water
