Portable healthy snacks are super handy to have on the go.
Have you ever been out and about and started feeling hungry with nothing healthy to eat in sight?
That is where portable snacks come in handy. It is way easier to stick to a healthy eating plan if you are prepared with some healthy food close at hand. This greatly reduces the chance of derailing a healthy eating plan with a junk food binge.
Cacao Bliss Protein Balls | Healthy Snack Idea
Cacao Bliss Protein Balls Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder, for people on a budget just use regular cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup pitted dates, soaked in water
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1 Tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of pumpkin or sunflower seeds. pre-soak in water to soften
- As a bonus for extra superfood power, add a few goji berries
Start by putting everything except the coconut into the food processor and blend up well to a dough like consistency. Lastly add the coconut and blend again.
Scoop out the mixture and roll into balls. You can make them plain, or roll them in more shredded coconut, Or get creative and roll in any topping of your choice. We would love to hear your ideas for creative toppings.
Eat some now and place a few in the freezer. That way you can reach in a grab a few for an on the go snack. Of course sometimes none of them make it into the freezer. 😉
