Quickie Alkaline Acid Foods


Alkaline forming foods include:

  •  fresh foods,
  • vegetables,
  • greens,
  • salads,
  • oats,
  • beans & pulses,
  • herbs, spices,
  • low-sugar fruits,
  • nuts, seeds,
  • oily fish,
  • coconut oil/milk,
  • veggies like spinach, kale, broccoli –and friends

Acid-forming foods include:

  •  sugar,
  • gluten,
  • soda, diet and regular,
  • processed foods,
  • alcohol,
  • fast foods,
  • takeaways,
  • processed meats,
  • sweets,
  • breads, pastas, pastries,
  • excessive animal protein and dairy. Some animal protein is ok and necessary for good nutrition and health, just be moderate.
  • However, here are a couple important points to make here:
  1. You don’t have to be perfectly alkaline all the time. Perfection is not the goal.
  2. It's about balance.  The goal is not to eat alkaline foods all of the time and never eat any acid forming food. The body needs some acid forming food in order to have complete nutrition.
  3. The goal is to be more in favor of alkaline over acid.
  4. Don't forget about the social aspect of eating. Enjoy your meal in good company. Be as relaxed as possible when eating.
