I would prefer fresh berries, but frozen will work. Blueberries, blackberries strawberries – half bag frozen
- 1/4 cup Goat milk yogurt
- 1 TBS Hemp seeds
- Handful Almonds (more alkalizing) or walnuts, adds nuttiness
- Coconut milk
- Few mint leaves
You can check out this post to read about all the amazing nutritional benefits of hemp seeds, a great source of protein.
I have mint growing in containers in the back yard, I add it to a lot of things. Check out Herbfest.net for more info on growing and using mint.
I like that she uses goat yogurt in this recipe. Many people have a sensitivity to cow dairy products. Some have issues that they aren’t even aware of. It is one of the most common food sensitivities.
Berries are the best type of fruit for a smoothie, they are low on the glycemic index, as fruit goes and they are loaded with anti oxidants and other great nutrients.
I prefer unsweetened coconut milk, without added sugar.
Almonds are the best choice in nuts for alkalizing. You could substitute other nuts if you like.
Throw it all into your blender and blend it up. Makes a great start of the day breakfast, or afternoon refresher. Contains healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, minerals and protein.
