These berry powders contain high levels of flavonoids, containing anthocyanins, which maintain the integrity of capillaries improving circulation and ultimate health in brain, eyes, and urinary tracts.

Here are the juice ingredients

Broccoli, juice the stem part, that you would normally throw away

Carrot, adds sweetness. So vary the ratio of carrots to other vegetables, based on how sweet you want the juice

Celery, great all around alkaline food

Cucumber, another good alkaline food, adds volume to the juice

He is using a masticating juicer, which is better for preserving the nutrients in the juice than the centrifugal juicers. Masticating juicers can generally extract more juice from the produce you put into it. They are slightly more expensive and sometimes a bit more work to clean up and put back together after use.

Live foods are fresh, raw, vegetables, fruits and sprouts. They are still rich in enzymes. If you removed some of the seeds and planted them, they would sprout. If you try to store these foods, they will rot and decay over time.

Dead foods are cooked foods. Heat destroys enzymes. Anything processed, heated, pasteurized (store bought juice), boxed, or canned. These types of foods might have potentially limitless shelf life. Cooked foods require the body to use up more of it’s own enzymes.

I’m not saying never eat cooked food. I like to have some raw vegetables or fruits at every meal. so if, I am having a steak, it’s rare and I have a large salad with it. (eat under-cooked meat at your own risk.) Freshly made juice is a great source of enzymes. I also like smoothies too, made predominately with vegetables and occasionally some fruit.

Enzymes supplements are a convenient way to get more enzymes. If someone invites me to dinner for a large meal, I’m sure to take along EXTRA enzymes.

Here are some things I do to help my digestion be more efficient:

Eat more raw vegetables and fruits, which are rich in enzymes

Chew thoroughly

Relax while eating

Take digestive enzymes

Eat small amounts of fat and protein at each meal

Don’t overstuff the stomach, give the digestive system an easy task, instead of overwhelming it

Fresh, locally grown, organic vegetables are the best when it comes to enzymes. Anything picked unripe, or shipped long distances, may not be so rich in enzymes.

I always feel more energy when I get myself into “positive enzyme balance”. In other words, I am taking in more enzymes, than my digestive system needs, for the food that I consumed.

Grow fresh organic vegetables in the warmth and comfort of your own kitchen.

Too cold in the winter to have a garden outside? The solution is to grow sprouts inside. You can create your own fresh supply of organic, enzyme rich sprouts until the garden perks back up in the spring. I personally have an organic garden that goes year round. A simple greenhouse makes winter gardening possible here in NC. It’s not heated, so growth has been slow here, as the evening temps have been near 20 for the last week or so. Sprouts help fill in the gaps, in a healthy eating lifestyle.

Growing your own sprouts is very inexpensive. Look for seeds at your local health food store.

Next time I will find a video that gives good instructions on how to sprout. If you know of a good one, let me know in the comment box below. We also want to hear your sprouting tips and experiences.

Good for Sprouting

Radish sprouts, easy to grow, add zest to salads and sandwiches

Alfalfa sprouts are one of the most nutritious foods you can eat. The roots of the alfalfa plant grow down deep to bring up minerals from the soil. Loaded with chlorophyll and enzymes.

Mung bean are common in Chinese cuisine. Excellent when eaten raw. Can be grown in as little as 2 days.

Red clover sprouts are a concentrated source of phytochemicals. Don’t take as long to grow as alfalfa and store will in frig.

French lentil sprouts are a good source of protein. Sprinkle over other dishes to add a nutritional boost.

Red cabbage sprouts are easy to grow. They add a dash of color.

Adzuki bean sprouts, similar to mung beans. A nice fresh bean flavor and crunch. Good source of living enzymes.

Broccoli sprouts have a good peppery flavor. Good source of chlorophyll and antioxidants.

One of my favorite ways to balance my pH is to drink an organic, cleansing herbal tea. It acts as a very gentle colon cleanse and helps to remove toxins from my body.

Disclaimer: Yes I do make money from the sale of this tea.
