<p>One of the things that they talk about in this segment is eating raw food vs. cooked.</p>
<p>I have personally been shooting for 80% raw foods at most meals for the last few weeks. It makes a noticeable difference.</p>
<p>In the video they talk about the benefit of eating at least 51% raw foods. That is just over half of the diet, eaten as raw foods.</p>
<p>One way to boost up your raw foods is to drink smoothies loaded with raw fruits and vegetables.</p>
<p>They also talk about how the soil is deficient and how food is shipped long distances to the grocery store.</p>
<p>One good way to get good fresh nutrition is by sprouting. You can&#8217;t get anymore locally grown than your own kitchen. I recently bought a large sprouting jar at the health food store. It makes more than double the amount of a regular sprouting jar. It&#8217;s great for keeping me well stocked in sprouts, especially handy in the winter, when fresh veggies are the most scarce.</p>

<p>I went where no man has gone before, &#8211; The Vegetable Isle . That is my favorite line in the video.</p>
<p>And yes it actually is possible to lose weight eating mostly desserts. Raw food desserts that is. Not the most healthy thing in the world, but still better than what a lot of people eat.</p>
<p>There is also some great information in this video about the right way and the wrong way to do a cleanse. Joseph tried a lot of cleanses and did not always have the best results.</p>
<p>By the way, all the smoothies and juices he made during the presentation that day were delicious.</p>

<p>So many people get hung up on the mindset of a healthy diet. They think in all or nothing terms. They think success or failure. How about instead think this way &#8211; A few small steps in the right direction. Then tomorrow, next week, next month or whatever a few more small steps.</p>

<p>It is heartwarming to see raw foods and healthy eating on  a TV show or in the news. People need to have more awareness of healthy living.</p>
<p>The host of the show is actually a newbie to the raw food scene. He is reluctant at first to try the mango, spinach, acai smoothie. Of course she doesn&#8217;t tell him what is in it, until after he tries it.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m not a 100% raw food person, but I do like to eat a very high percentage of raw foods in my diet. I can definitely feel a difference in energy levels, both mentally and physically.</p>
<p>Raw foods are rich in natural enzymes, cooking and heating foods, destroys enzymes.<br />
I like to take <a href="http://mynsp.com/askherb/products/guide.aspx?stocknum=1525">enzyme supplements</a> at every meal, raw or not to help with digestion. If I eat a large meal, with lots of cooked foods, (think Thanksgiving) then I take <a href="http://mynsp.com/askherb/products/guide.aspx?stocknum=1525">extra enzymes.</a></p>

<p>There are several tricks that can be used to trick the taste buds and the eyeballs to create the look and taste of common dishes.</p>
<p>Even pasta and sauces can be replicated in  a raw food chef way.</p>
<p>I personally don&#8217;t believe in eating 100% raw. I like to have some cooked food, but always a greater percentage of raw foods for maximum vitality.</p>

<p>Try to use organic ingredients as much as possible.</p>
<h2>Raw Food Stuffing Recipe</h2>
<ul class="bullet-9">
<li>Celery chopped</li>
<li>cranberries</li>
<li>soaked sunflower seeds</li>
<li>onion</li>
<li>apple &#8211; locally grown</li>
<li>Chia tea for marinade</li>
<li>Add a few herbs and spices like cinnamon and sage</li>
</ul>
<p>Let it marinade in the tea for a good 15 minutes. Then drain off the liquid.</p>
<p>Place it all into a food processor or blender and pulse briefly. The consistency should be chunky.</p>
<p>Use this stuffing in your traditional turkey, or you can be creative and boat out a squash or hollow out a pepper. Try it with a stuffed raw organic pepper &#8211; yum! You could even stuff an acorn squash.</p>

<p>Digestive problems are abundant in the modern world. Chewing your food and your smoothies better can help improve digestion. Also relax while eating. Digestion works much better when you are in a relaxed state. Stress moves energy away from digestion. So take your time, enjoy your smoothie or whatever you are eating.</p>
