It is a hardy herb that grows easily in a small space.

The lady in this video is telling us that rosemary may be good for depression.

I have a nice rosemary plant growing in my garden, and I enjoy some on my salad.

Using the Herb Rosemary

Steep in hot water for herbal tea. Maybe add some peppermint or cloves for flavor. Fresh squeezed lemon is good too.

Add to salads, just break off a small sprig and strip the “leaves” off the stem.

Great for herbal baths.

As part of a sleep pillow.

Add to soups or other recipes.

Diffusing rosemary essential oil in an aromatherapy diffuser can help energize the mind.

Rosemary is known among herbalists as a memory enhancer and energizer.

A friend of mine recently bought a little rosemary plant as a gift for another friend. This is a great time of year to think about planting rosemary. If you live anywhere near Wake Forest, NC, check out Herbfest for a unique selection of rosemary varieties and many other herbs.

Keep in mind, rosemary by itself is not going to cure depression, but a nice cup of rosemary tea can certainly be enjoyable.

Check out an internal spring cleaning herbal tea here. (doesn’t contain rosemary, but has other great herbs.)

It is well known that Stress can make your body acidic faster than eating an acidic meal.

So what can you really do to reduce stress, or at least lessen the impact on your life?

Yoga is something that really works for me. I was talking to my yoga teacher after class this past Monday. We both observed how much better we feel after a good yoga class.

Tone Up Your Sun Salutes

My mind feels much calmer. Not only that, I can actually feel a difference in my body.

Movement is one of the best ways to combat stress. When a zebra is stressed by an attacking lion, what does it do? Run! Stress triggers a need for movement in the body.

When the zebra is done running and the lion ate somebody else, then what? He takes a rest.

Yoga combines movement, with deep breathing and relaxation. That is what makes it a great stress solution. It works with that mind-body connection.

There are some other great ways to reduce stress, I will share in upcoming posts. I would love to hear about your favorite stress reduction method. Please use the comment box below.

Foods High in Magnesium:

Leafy green vegetables are at the top of my list, also very alkalizing as well. Dandelion greens have lots of other benefits too.

Nuts and peanuts are a good source of magnesium Pumpkin seeds are also a good source of zinc.

Seafood

Beans, legumes

Grains, but not my favorite way to get magnesium.

Bananas and figs

Artichoke, sweet potatoes and okra along with other vegetables.

Sea vegetables like kelp

Buckwheat

Garlic

There is also a list of things that can drain calcium from the body:

Coffee

Acidic foods

Stress

Drugs and excess alcohol

Salt

Soda pop

One of my favorite ways to balance my pH is to drink an organic, cleansing herbal tea. It acts as a very gentle colon cleanse and helps to remove toxins from my body.

Disclaimer: Yes I do make money from the sale of this tea.
I know from personal experience that eating healthy can sometimes be stressful. You seem to be going against the flow of what everyone else is doing. But then again, everyone else is getting fatter, sicker and more tired. What I am trying to do is feel better, have more energy and live a long healthy life.

Have you ever gone into a restaurant, looked at the menu and thought to yourself, there is nothing healthy on this menu? Or you feel embarrassed because you have to make a special request to get some food that is acceptable to someone who is health conscious.

<I know how stressful it can be to have everyone around you eating junk food, while you are trying to maintain good health. And the temptations are out there for sure. If people only knew what was in that junk they are eating.

If you have a spouse, or other family members who are not into health food it can be challenging. I know that first hand.

Please chime in using the comment box below, would love to hear your story!
