If you thought eating or drinking diet products with artificial sweeteners would help you lose weight, you might want to think again.

Including the fact that it does not really help you lose any weight.

Aspartame: The Bitter Truth Behind This Toxic Sweetener
Artificial Sweeteners May Cause You to GAIN Weight by:
- Stimulating your appetite
- Increasing your cravings for carbohydrates
- Promoting fat storage
Artificial sweeteners are acid forming in the body and they are on the “most acid” side of the alkaline diet chart.
Avoiding acid promoting processed foods reduces the possible consumption of artificial sweeteners in general. Eating Real food, like fruits, vegetables and healthy meats, helps reduce the chance that you will eat something containing an artificial sweetener.
My taste buds have changed a lot in the years I have been following an alkaline diet and lifestyle. I no longer crave sweet foods. In fact junk foods like doughnuts or snack cakes, actually look repulsive to me. I don’t put any sweeteners at all in my morning cup of herbal tea, or the rare, occasional cup of coffee.
Sometimes I can get a Stevia plant to grow in my garden. The leaves are very sweet, almost like candy, but it’s a green plant.
Stevia in now available in most grocery stores in powdered form.
Advertising on TV, magazines, the internet and other media would lead us to believe that artificial sweeteners can help people lose weight and be healthy. In fact, the opposite is true.
Best way to lose weight and be healthy – eat lots of leafy green vegetables!! (I think I heard that one from my grandmother.)
